The Education Crisis The United States Educational System
Upon consideration of the education crisis that currently is the United Statesââ¬â¢ educational system there have developed intangible amounts of controversy, each one in itself claiming to have solved the problem or to have identified what truly is wrong with it. The most strained trend of these controversies is the view on school system policy, policy being what makes a school system unique also is claimed to be the big issue of the U.S. However, in the current state of this country in dire need of resolution it is evident that no change in policy can solve a much greater issue, one that stands more than just in the way of education but the emancipation of a dream, the American Dream. The fault lies not in the policy of the system, but inâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Many have claimed to have solved the school system or saved the future generations through solutions such as non-government funding or higher standards for all teachers no matter what salary is presented, however, the key to the locked door of success is not labeled with a solution of policy, but that of heart and culture. What lies in the hearts of the American people is what sets them aside as an unusual people, a new and indefinitely unique type of culture. The culture of this people is not only what makes them who they are, but is used in order to create, innovate, thrive, as well as drive them to success. According to Margaret J. Electronic Health Records Pros Free Essays
Abstract This paper will provide the pros and cons of changing to an all-electronic health records structure and the data that is entered into the records. It will also provide an example of an innovative system integrated into the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Electronic health records are an innovative new system that manages patientsââ¬â¢ files. We will write a custom essay sample on Electronic Health Records Pros or any similar topic only for you Order Now It has altered from the old patient info systems into this more arranged and regulated database. It creates a system that connects the data of all patients; from past hospital visits, allergies, treatments and demographics. EHRââ¬â¢s are crucial to the growth of the medical field; it allows a comprehensive visual of the health care field. A patient is able to handle their individual health information with simplicity and identify any erroneous data. One is able to revise their insurance and payment information with just a few clicks. The innovated EHR allows patients to have some kind of reassurance on the accuracy of the data being seen by their physicians and staff; that their checkups will be without delay because the need of unnecessary paperwork would be out of place. Medical doctors are capable to enter the system distantly without any slit, which is critical in case of emergencies. The EHR supports evidence-based medicine across the system because it permits clinical census to increase and advance the effectiveness of health methods. EHR systems let patients involve themselves in clinical trials; find doctors that are specified in services that they possibly will necessitate, and let medical students and clinicians situate medical environments that contribute to their trained and educational focuses. The EHR structures may have its rewards but there are limitations to maintain a system, which is roughly a national catalog for patient data and files. One shortcoming to the system is the cost linked to changing and the financial setback that small clinic could sustain. The value of the EHR ranges from the tools acquirement to make the transition and the cross training necessitated to have doctors and medical staff current with the latest system. A supplementary apprehension for the EHR system is privacy. The patients are vigilant of information systems that contain their medical files, insurance and billing data such as patient location, economical, and insurance are located in the files, the safety and threats of hackersââ¬â¢ amplifies. Sickbays protect their files by providing and having regular inspection at all time because of legal matters. The Department of Veterans Affairs has refurbished his database to fit the veterans increasing population. Its new structure called VistA permits health care practitioners to review, modify and generate a comprehensive patient record. The system by design links over 1000 health care facilities connected to the Veterans Affairs nationwide and it encloses specialistsââ¬â¢ info and multimedia data. The system also has put forward a space for physicianââ¬â¢s orders and worries to be matched for veteran. The Veterans Affairs went through a massive privacy breach in 2006, when a laptop containing veteransââ¬â¢ information was brought home by an employee. The agency had to issue alerts, send letters out to the affected veterans informing them of the possibly breach of their privacy. The database enclosed the names, social security numbers and dates of birth of as many as 26. 5 million veterans and their families, according to the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The agency realized the infringement of policy after the member of staffââ¬â¢s house was broken into. The breach was labeled one of the largest security and privacy breach at the time and veterans had to be vigilant about their finances and credit reports. ? Economic Principles Production of Business
Question: Describe about the Economic Principles for Production of Business. Answer: Introduction The economic analysis is study of the social factors that determines the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services (Becker, 2013). It focuses on the behavior and interactions of the different factors such as demand and supply. The economic principles basically focus on two demonstrates such as macro-economic and micro-economic factors. In the micro-economic, the supply and demand are significant factors that determine the price of the product in the market (Drummond, et al., 2015). The price of a product is significantly affected by the demand and supply for this product. Article Summary This article is about the price movement of the product due to the impact of supply. According to the given information, Avocado is the popular and unique fruit in the Australian market. Often, it is sales an average price between the $3.9 and $4 but, in this season, it is available $75 per tray. In Australia, the demand of the Avocado is completed from the Western Australia and New Zealand. But, in this season the supply from both are down approximately 30 percent. Mr Tyas said that every season 360000 Avocados produces in a week but, this time; only 100000 Avocados are producing in a week. It is because the harvesting of the avocado is low in this season. Along with this, the supply from the New Zealand is affected due to some rain and slow down harvesting. The people is emerging in the other works rather than the harvesting of Avocados. The season of this fruit is start from the late- -February but this time, the demand of the avocado will be struggling to provide the April demand. Article Analysis Through the analysis of this article, it is found that the supply and demand play a significant role in influencing the price of the product. The concept of the supply and demand of the product is one of the most fundamental concepts of the price inflection. In this article, the impact of the supply is shown on the price of the Avocado. The price is increased due to the supply of the Avocado has decreased. It is because harvesting of the crop is down in the Australia. Along with this, in the context of the demand comes from New Zealand is also low due to the crop of the Avocado is affected by the rain. It is also analyzed that price of the good or service depends on the supply of goods and consumer demand (Granger, et. al., 2014). If supply is too low than its price will be high in the market. It has been seen in the context of the Avocados price. According to the given information, the supply of the Avocado is low due to the slow down harvesting and crop is also affected due to the rain. Due to the less supply in the market, the price of the Avocado has been reached at $75 tray, which is twenty times more than normal price in the market. It shows that when the supply of the product remains low then it the price will increase in the market. The low supply is also lead top high demand because sometimes the supply is unable to complete the total demand of the customers (Webster, 2016). From the above analysis, it can be said that there is a strong relationship between the supply of a product and its price. According to the theory of the economy, the price of the good will increase when its demand is high and supply is low in the market. It is same in this case, Avocado is famous fruit in the Australia, which is beneficial for health and also part of many dishes due to this its demand remains always high in the market. Now times, the supply of the Avocados is very low so that its demand is very high compared to last seasons. That is why the price of the avocado is reached at $75 per tray (Webster, 2016). Demand and Supply The term demand refers to the quantity demand of a goods and service that show the amount of customer willingness or plan to purchase during a period of the time at a particular price. It includes some major elements such as wants, affordability and definite plan to buy. On the other hand, the term supply refers to an amount of total goods and services that producers plan to sell during the specific time period at the particular price (Lewis, 2013). [Source: Lewis, 2013] Figure 1: The Supply Curve There is a significant relationship between the price of a product and its demand and supply. The price elasticity of the supply measures the price change in the context of the change variable in the supply. The elasticity of the supply keeps a positive relationship with the price of the product because there is positive coefficient between the supply and price. The concept of the demand states that, if all the factors remain same or equal, the price of the good is higher than the fewer customers will demand the goods (Shauver, et. al., 2013). The supply is a volume of the good that manufacture or producer provide against the demand in the market. The producer has to supply more of the items when the producer can sell it at a high price compared to the low price. The quantity supply is an amount of total that are offered by the seller with the willingness of the sell in the market. There are some factors that determine the supply such as price, input price, technology, expectation, the number of the seller. The law of the supply is explained that when all the things remain equal than the supply of the product will increase when the price of the product increase. The quantity supplied has a positive relationship with the price of the goods. In this, the supply schedule is effective to show the relationship between the supply and price. It is also known the name of supply curve graph. In the economic theory, low supply leads to raise the demand of the product. It is also seen with Avocados demand when its supply is low in the market than it demand is also high. At the same time, the high demand for the product generates the high price of the product in the market (Kolbe, et. al., 2012). It can be better understand through the help of below grap h. [Source: Kolbe, et. al., 2012] Figure 2: The Demand Relationship According to the Balassa, (2013) the price of the product is determined by force of the demand and supply. The demand and supply of the product act as the signals of the movement of the price. According to the given information, there is no substitute of the Avocado in the market. In this situation, the low supply of the leads the high price of the goods that has been seen with Avocado. Theory of economic growth exhibits that if the supply of the product decrease and demands remains unchanged; it leads to higher equilibrium price and lower quantity (Keynes, 2013). According to the equilibrium theory, in the economic, when the market situation is equilibrium than the price of the product stays the same in the market (De Jaegher, et. al., 2014). Market equilibrium also affects the price of the product. In this, when the equilibrium decreases, it means that increase in the supply of the goods. In this situation, the supply curve is shifted to the right. Opposite of this, when the equilibrium increases, it means that decrease in the supply of the goods. In this case, the supply curve is shifted to the left. In the both situation, the demand of the goods remains unchanged (Jorgenson, et. al., 2016). In the economic, the supply curve is able to represent the relationship of the quality supply of a good and service and its price in the graphical format. In this type of the presentation, the price appears as left the vertical line and supply appears horizontal line. [Source: Jorgenson, et. al., 2016] Figure 3: The Movement of the Supply Curve The below graphs show that what is impact increase and decrease supply on the price of goods or service. According to the American Diabetes Association (2013), the law supply leads to the high price of the goods and services. The above graph depicts that how the supply curve is shifted left due to the decrease in the supply. It also shows that influence of the supply on the price of the goods. Burdina, (2015) has conducted a study in the context of supply and demand. In this, it is stated that the supply, demand and price of the good are related to each other. The demand and supply affect the price of the good in the market. The basic economic principle depicts that if there is an oversupply of a product in the market, its price fall in the market. Opposite of this, the principle also states that when the goods supply remains low, in this situation, its price goes to high (Kolbe, et. al., 2012). In the economic, inverse relationship is presented between the price and supply of the product in the situation of the demand is unchanged. In the market, the supply is increased for goods or service and demand is unchanged, the price of the goods will go to down to a lower equilibrium price. In contrary, in the market, supply for the good is low and demand is just same, the price will go to higher equilibrium price (Cremer, et. al., 2012). It is also same with the inverse relationship in the context of the demand and price. In this, the principles state that when the demand for goods goes to high and supply remains unchanged that time its price in the market will go to higher equilibrium price (Soon, et. al., 2015). In another situation, when the demand of the goods goes to down and its supply remain same that time its price in the market will go to down equilibrium price. For example, imagine a car manufacture company launch its new luxury modal at the price of $200000. In the current market, the demand for the luxury car is high and as concerning the company keeps it supply high. Unfortunately, the demand for the luxury car goes down and people do not like to pay $200000 for the car. As the result, the demand for the care goes to down and its sales will fall quickly. At the same time, due to the oversupply if the car and low of the demand, the company will reduce its market price at $150000. It will help the company to maintain the balance between the demand and supply of the car. Conclusion From the above discussion, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the demand and supply and inverse relationship between the supply and price of the good or service (Coale, et. al., 2015). It is also concluded that when the supply of the product decreases then its price will raise in the market. The same thing has been seen in the given article. The avocado price is increased due to the supply of the Avocado in low in the current time. For managing the balance between the supply and price of the Avocado, the Avocados Australia CEO John Tyas should maintain the safety stock at the warehouses. It will help to manage the demand and supply and it will also help to keep price sustainable. Along with this, producers should implement the effective planning to complete the demand of the Avocado in Australia. The supply of the Avocado can be significantly improved through reducing the lead times within the process. Reference American Diabetes Association. "Economic costs of diabetes in the US in 2012." Hurston, Zora How It Feels To Be Colored Me My Bag Essays
Hurston, Zora How It Feels to Be Colored Me My Bag English Lit./Comp. Perhaps one of the most profound pieces of African American short story literature is Zora Hurstons' How It Feels to Be Colored Me. In the conclusion of her short story, Hurston depicts her own life experiences through the personification of a brown bag and its contents. To detail my life through mere contents of a paper bag is a difficult task, however, I am a simple man among many, trying not to drown in an ocean of complexity more commonly known as society. My bag is comprised of many objects, some which I have yet to use and others that have already expired. The first content inside my bag is a pack of wet matches that can no longer be used to light the path I must travel to reach my destiny. The next object inside my bag is a two-way radio that has been partially damaged, only able to receive information not transmit it. The radio develops my keen listening skills but it does not allow me to call for help or be heard in any way. The third item found within my bag is an inflatable life vest which could be used to save my life, except that large holes have worn through its exhausted material. The next item contained within my bag is a small bible that I once read daily. Now the pages within the bible are stained with water of incertitude and the smeared ink that was once writing is now a collection of modern art masterpieces upon the blessed canvas from which previously read. The unexpired contents of my brown bag include a golden needle with silver thread, a collection of postal stamps and a small lighter. I am a strong believer in mankind's ability to believe in himself, but he must utilize the contents inside his own bag to overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles of life. As for the remaining contents of my bag, I can only hypothesize how they may be used to help me stay afloat in this large ocean of life. Through a careful examination of my life the realization of simplicity is evident. I strive to be myself, for as myself I believe that individuality is the strongest light, the quickest way to be heard and the only method of staying afloat in today's society. Perhaps the "Great Stuffer of Bags" stuffed all of the bags a little too similar to each other.

Example of Goodness of Fit Test
Example of Goodness of Fit Test The chi-square goodness of fit test is a useful to compare a theoretical model to observed data. This test is a type of the more general chi-square test. As with any topic in mathematics or statistics, it can be helpful to work through an example in order to understand what is happening, through an example of the chi-square goodness of fit test. Consider a standard package of milk chocolate MMs. There are six different colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and brown. Suppose that we are curious about the distribution of these colors and ask, do all six colors occur in equal proportion? This is the type of question that can be answered with a goodness of fit test. Setting We begin by noting the setting and why the goodness of fit test is appropriate. Our variable of color is categorical. There are six levels of this variable, corresponding to the six colors that are possible. We will assume that the MMs we count will be a simple random sample from the population of all MMs. Null and Alternative Hypotheses The null and alternative hypotheses for our goodness of fit test reflect the assumption that we are making about the population. Since we are testing whether the colors occur in equal proportions, our null hypothesis will be that all colors occur in the same proportion. More formally, if p1 is the population proportion of red candies, p2 is the population proportion of orange candies, and so on, then the null hypothesis is that p1 p2 . . . p6 1/6. The alternative hypothesis is that at least one of the population proportions is not equal to 1/6. Actual and Expected Counts The actual counts are the number of candies for each of the six colors. The expected count refers to what we would expect if the null hypothesis were true. We will let n be the size of our sample. The expected number of red candies is p1 n or n/6. In fact, for this example, the expected number of candies for each of the six colors is simply n times pi, or n/6. Chi-square Statistic for Goodness of Fit We will now calculate a chi-square statistic for a specific example. Suppose that we have a simple random sample of 600 MM candies with the following distribution: 212 of the candies are blue.147 of the candies are orange.103 of the candies are green.50 of the candies are red.46 of the candies are yellow.42 of the candies are brown. If the null hypothesis were true, then the expected counts for each of these colors would be (1/6) x 600 100. We now use this in our calculation of the chi-square statistic. We calculate the contribution to our statistic from each of the colors. Each is of the form (Actual ââ¬â Expected)2/Expected.: For blue we have (212 ââ¬â 100)2/100 125.44For orange we have (147 ââ¬â 100)2/100 22.09For green we have (103 ââ¬â 100)2/100 0.09For red we have (50 ââ¬â 100)2/100 25For yellow we have (46 ââ¬â 100)2/100 29.16For brown we have (42 ââ¬â 100)2/100 33.64 We then total all of these contributions and determine that our chi-square statistic is 125.44 22.09 0.09 25 29.16 33.64 235.42. Degrees of Freedom The number of degrees of freedom for a goodness of fit test is simply one less than the number of levels of our variable. Since there were six colors, we have 6 ââ¬â 1 5 degrees of freedom. Chi-square Table and P-Value The chi-square statistic of 235.42 that we calculated corresponds to a particular location on a chi-square distribution with five degrees of freedom. We now need a p-value, to determines the probability of obtaining a test statistic at least as extreme as 235.42 while assuming that the null hypothesis is true. Microsoftââ¬â¢s Excel can be used for this calculation. We find that our test statistic with five degrees of freedom has a p-value of 7.29 x 10-49. This is an extremely small p-value. Decision Rule We make our decision on whether to reject the null hypothesis based on the size of the p-value. Since we have a very miniscule p-value, we reject the null hypothesis. We conclude that MMs are not evenly distributed among the six different colors. A follow-up analysis could be used to determine a confidence interval for the population proportion of one particular color.

Analysis of competitiveness of Chinese textile in EU market Essay
Analysis of competitiveness of Chinese textile in EU market - Essay Example The paper tells about the entry of China in the world market since 2005, with the quota-benefits is instrumental in her rising position as an important player in the world market with cutting edge of competitiveness and higher standards. Clark observes in his study of international competitiveness the need for the management and organization to work in harmony. ââ¬Å"Management and organization is the focal point of Clarkââ¬â¢s study. It is the force of international competitiveness that creates incentive for change. A government can create temporary incentives but can do little to get domestic firms optimize their objective functions in the long runâ⬠. The study conducted by Caves indicates that producers behaviour and resource allocation are altered by trade changes, rate of adjustment of the structure of the manufacturing. Industries to import competition and the amount of the sunk capital are highly correlated, marketing opportunity at a global scale enhances the plant-s cale economies, and the product differentiation changes the effect of import competition.Collis advocates a different approach saying ââ¬Å"that an appropriate industrial policy corrects market imperfections and creates congenial environment for successful business. To adopt suitable industrial policy, it is essential to clearly define industryââ¬â¢s role, understand companyââ¬â¢s strategies in the light of shifting comparative advantage and the changing structure of the global industries, identify market failures and implement coherent policies to minimize the pitfalls.ââ¬

Building Construction for the Fire Service Research Paper
Building Construction for the Fire Service - Research Paper Example This need highlighted the importance of having building codes and standards so that a uniform design approach and criteria should be followed by everyone. Hence no risk is to be taken. As we are aware of the fact that there are two phases of the establishment of the any facility or building, firstly it is the design of the structure and second is the construction or execution phase of the design. In the modern day the different building codes and standards restricts the builder and designer to make structures safe. It is also observed that when ever I collapse is seen these building codes and standards are reviewed for any mistakes and error and consequently they are changed and amended. If we scrutinize the building codes and standards we come to a conclusion that they are consider worst conditions in loading such as dead loading, live , wind and even earth quakes but fire loading was not seriously considered as a probable cause of collapse of the structure until collapse of the Wor ld Trade Center in New York terrorist attack. But now the latest codes consider the fire as an equally probable cause of collapse of structure. In this paper I would go about the problem in the similar manner as engineers and designers did when drafting the codes and standards against the fire and its impact loading, where I will focus on the following . 1. General building design and Construction methodologies 2. Causes Of Collapses Of Structures 3. Progressive Collapse Analysis 4. Fire-Induced Progressive Collapse 5. Impact of collapses on the Building codes and standards General building design and Construction methodologies As far as the fire protection is concerned the building design and type of construction the National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA 220, 2006) has classified into two types, and firstly there are those buildings where the construction material is combustible (wood, steel) and secondly noncombustible for instance concrete and bricks. On the other hand the Association has divided it into five sub categories according to the fire resisting rating and construction methodologies of the structure as a whole. Type I is fire-resistive construction this type of construction mainly consist of non combustible materials and have a fairly good fire resistance rating that is it can resists fire for about 3-4 hours and this category include materials such as precast concrete slabs, concrete columns and beams. Type II is Noncombustible type, it consists of building having steel beams and girders, which are low on fire resistance rating, and are prone to large deformation and resulting into ultimate failure. Type III is the ordinary construction which comprises of mixed construction material which used in combination of steel, wood and concrete. The older this type of construction gets the more will be the risk of fire and hence more chances will be there of a complete structural collapse. Then comes the Type IV which is Heavy Timber structures, as the name depicts that these building types consists of heavy wood and almost all the structural elements are of wood, which we all are well aware very much prone to fire but at the same time these type of structures burns for a longer time and hence no sudden collapse is seen and some time is given to the inhabitants to escape the facility. Lastly it is Type V which is Wood Frames these are those building types which have a wooden frame as main skeleton of the structure but
